I recently started teaching one of my friend who is only eight magic by using DOTP 2013 and it was really successful, so for his birthday he got some real cards including the Jace vs Vraska duel deck. He has been playing table top magic with me so yesterday I decided I would take him to my local casual FNM.
His first game was with my modern slivers deck against a very strong boggle deck, the first match slivers began strongly and it looked like he would die of poison counter but a simple path to exile put an end to that idea before a very large trampling gladecover scout finished the game.
Match 2 was not much better with the boggle deck being just to strong for slivers.
The other game he played was a two headed giant it was with slivers again, his partner had a life gain deck the other team were using the Jace and Vraska decks with a little bit of editing. The game took forever with the other team constantly attacking but the life gain kept him in it, the stalemate was finally broken when the slivers drew virulent sliver and galerider sliver it did not take long to for the game to end after that.
I fear I may of got him in to magic big time as as we finished he said he wanted to again and again.
Thanks for reading and happy gaming.
