This is slightly late but oh well better later than never.

The other day wizards released the latest event deck, Conquering Hordes. The full decklist can be found here as i am only looking at little bits. The deck is a fast, black white, creature based deck.
The deck looks to me like a nice mix of creatures and battle tricks with a small amount of removal. I do like the idea that this deck is creature based and less controlling so it means a new player would be able to just open the deck and play. One thing I did immediately notice about the deck is that it is not in one clans colours which i found inserting as it means it is not making a player who buys it focus down one path but instead allows them an option of Abzan or Mardu. What do you think of the deck and will you be getting one? I would love to hear you thoughts Thanks for reading and happy gaming. Hello and welcome back Today I am looking at some card that could shake up modern in a big way. It's.... FETCHES!! Fetches are not new in modern but these ones are, the original fetches were printed in onslaught and are back in Khans of Tarkir. So what does this mean? Well for standard it will speed it up a scry lands are slowing the game down. In modern is will mean some of the multicolored decks that are not quite seeing play due to a weak mana base could come in to their own, i know i will be revisiting an old modern deck that will benefit from these. These will also encourage more modern and legacy players. So what will you be doing with these new cards.
On another note i love the flavor on these. Thanks for reading and happy gaming. Wizards finally saw sense yesterday. This article was posted, The article is about the issue I raised the other day about no modern at the pro tour next year. Many in the magic community were severely annoyed by the fact that all the pro tours would be standard, well that issue has now be rectified with the Washington D.C pro tour on 6-8 of February now being Modern and Booster draft. But that is not all GP Vancouver will also be modern. This is great because it mixes the pro tours up a bit and wizards have been trying to improve moderns fan base. Wizards do listen to the community if the community do not like something the do have some power and this is the evidence.
Thanks for reading and happy Gaming. (Now all we need is Modern GP in England but you can not have everything) When Whims of the Fates was first revealed I remember thinking how is this a rare, who in there right mind would play this. Well last night I found out who would play it, a Chaos Commander player.
Imagine the situation turn 9 or 10 (I do not remember exactly) all four players still alive 3 of us with large board presence the chaos player had a sol ring a rhys the redeemed and a zedruu the greathearted. The chaos player the player whims we all agreed to make one big piles and 2 empty ones. Me and the Rhys player lost it all, but the other two player managed to get away unscathed. I have to say that was probably one of may favorite commander games even though I did not win the chaos player made that a lot of fun. If in your Commander play group there is not a choas player go and make one they are so fun. Whats you favorite commander moment. Thanks for reading and happy gaming. After writing my promo article I watched a few games at a store I was in and I saw the most amazing land base. Nearly all the land was Guru land, Guru lands were printed as promos for players before 2001. Guru lands for those who do not know look like this. The only land in the deck that was not Gruu land was the 5 latest full art lands. The latest batch of full art land were produced as judges foils ( what a great job a magic judge and you get foil promos) the land feature art by Terisse Nelson and these are what they look like. Maybe soon you will be seeing some of these limited promos near you. Thanks for reading and happy gaming.
Jace vs Liliana Garruk vs Chandra Elves vs Demonic Goblins vs Divine Imagine pitting these decks against each other well know you can in Wizards latest set. Duel Decks: Anthology is a reprint of all the decks from the first four duel decks that means we will be seeing these reprinted:
I think this is great idea to reprint these for the people who missed them the first time round and right before Christmas they are a great present. What do you think? Thanks for reading and happy gaming. In my rant yesterday I forgot to talk about GP Promo and what a promo it is. Its not as usable as the current promo (Batterskull) but it's still great, with lovely new art and with two GP's in the UK i have two chances to get this card. It's Griselbrand. Today's article is a little bit of a rant about next years pro tours.
The schedule is as follows
The first thing I noticed is they are all standard and draft. WHY? Yes standard is fun but do we need all three pro tours to be in the same format. I believe we should see one modern pro tour. Modern is ever changing format with many different deck types, standard is changing format but only a few decks can triumph. Modern is also a format that wizards has tried to improve and showcase so why not feature it in a pro tour. Wizards say they making them all standard because it is the most commonly sanctioned format, but that is only because most FNM are standard. At least we will still have drafts which are always fun and exciting, and the world championships will feature modern. *Rant Over* Thanks for reading and happy gaming. |
